THE DIRECTORY
Overview
The planning profession is being reshaped by artificial intelligence. New tools are emerging quickly, but councils and planning authorities have no independent, trusted way to find them, compare them, and match them to their needs.
The Digital Planning Directory is changing that.
We are building an independent directory of AI solutions for planning. It is designed to help councils and planning authorities discover vetted solutions, compare them with confidence, and match the right tool to their specific challenge and level of digital maturity.
This is not a pay-to-play platform. It is independent. Every vendor is assessed through a rigorous process of expressions of interest, presentations and interviews, before being evaluated and categorised for listing. The independence of NEON.URBAN conducting this process is the difference.
The result will be a clear, credible resource that cuts through the noise and helps the sector adopt AI with trust and purpose.
Key dates
Expressions of interest for the first intake are now open and will close on Friday 30 October 2026. Presentations and interviews are scheduled for November 2026. The platform launches in January 2027. Relevant information is available in a briefing pack on the Directory website here.
